'World Humanities Forum' to Be Held in Andong This Fall... MOU Signed by Ministry of Education, Gyeongbuk Province, and Andong City

The Ministry of Education, Gyeongbuk Province, and Andong City signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 10th at the International Exchange Center of Kyungpook National University for the successful hosting of the 8th World Humanities Forum.


The World Humanities Forum is an international academic event held biennially to share achievements in humanities from Korea and abroad and to spread the value of the humanities through exchanges with world-renowned scholars. It will be held in the second half of this year.

MOU Signed by Ministry of Education, Gyeongbuk Province, and Andong City After signing a memorandum of understanding, Lee Cheolwoo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province (left), Lee Juho, Minister of Education (center), and Kwon Kichang, Mayor of Andong City, are holding the business agreement and shouting "Fighting."

Through this agreement, the three institutions will establish a cooperative system for the smooth operation of the event and jointly provide support for transportation, accommodation, and tourism for the convenience of domestic and international speakers and participants.


In addition, a variety of programs will be prepared to enhance public accessibility to the forum, allowing both humanities researchers and citizens to participate.


Gyeongbuk Province expects that this forum will serve as an opportunity to promote the region's cultural value and humanities traditions to the world, as well as contribute to the revitalization of the local economy and tourism industry.


Minister of Education Lee Jooho stated, "It is very meaningful that the 8th World Humanities Forum will be held in Andong, a historic city with a long history, tradition, and outstanding cultural heritage," and added, "Through communication and cooperation among the institutions, we will do our best to ensure a successful event so that Andong City in Gyeongbuk can communicate with the world through the humanities."


Gyeongbuk Governor Lee Cheolwoo said, "Through this 8th World Humanities Forum, we expect Gyeongsangbuk-do and Andong City to play a major role in the development of world humanities," and added, "We will do our utmost to make this the most successful event among all previous World Humanities Forums by utilizing the region's humanities foundation."
