Woori Financial Group announced on the 11th that it held the 'Group Women Leaders Networking Day' at its headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 10th, bringing together female leaders within the group to celebrate 'International Women's Day (March 8)'.
This networking event was organized under the theme of 'Cooperation through Mutual Communication and Sustainable Growth' to promote a culture that respects diversity within the organization and to strengthen management strategies aligned with global ESG standards. Over 60 participants, including female leaders from all Woori Financial Group companies and Chairman Lim Jong-ryong, attended to engage in mutual communication and discuss cooperation plans for sustainable growth.
Chairman Lim Jong-ryong stated, "The challenges and growth of female leaders translate into organizational competitiveness," emphasizing the value of growth and solidarity by adding, "We will continue to provide unwavering support so that female leaders can take on more proactive roles."
Woori Financial Group has set a goal to increase the proportion of women in management to 15% by 2030. Notably, six female executives were appointed in 2025 alone, and the number of female executives has risen significantly from just seven at the time of Chairman Lim's inauguration to 18. This reflects the CEO's strong will and execution capability in fostering female leadership.
The event featured various programs aimed at strengthening female leadership. During the luncheon, female leaders shared their experiences and discussed the diverse challenges they face within their organizations. They particularly empathized with common concerns experienced by women leaders working in the financial sector and discussed ways to nurture female talent.
In the final session, Professor Lee Eun-hyung of Kookmin University’s Business Administration Department held a talk concert on the topic of 'Influential Communication and Negotiation Skills.' Professor Lee emphasized, "One cannot go far alone, so collaboration is essential," advising on how to build presence and establish a leadership position through effective communication within the organization.
A Woori Financial Group official said, "This networking event is meaningful not just as a simple gathering but as an opportunity for female leaders within the group to cooperate and grow together," adding, "We will continue various efforts to expand female leadership within the organization through active communication and support."
