Guro-gu set a new record by raising the largest amount of donations and goods ever in the ‘2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign’ project.
The district promoted the ‘2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign’ for about three months from November 15 last year to February 14 this year, raising a total of 4.648 billion KRW, including 860 million KRW in cash donations and 3.842 billion KRW in goods. This amount increased by 280 million KRW compared to the previous year, exceeding the target amount of 2 billion KRW by 2.3 times.
Various members of the local community participated in this fundraising. Among them were 515,250 KRW collected by the Well-being Dance Club members at Gaebong 3-dong Gaewoong Gymnasium, as well as donations from △ Ground Gocheok Merchants Association (Onnuri gift certificates worth 615,000 KRW and cash donations of 126,000 KRW) △ Cheongryong Environment Co., Ltd. (cash donation of 10 million KRW) △ Iwon Bio (probiotics worth about 1.6 billion KRW) △ Woori Children’s Hospital (nutritional supplements for children and adolescents) △ Guro Fire Station and Guro Volunteer Fire Brigade (kimchi donations), sharing warmth from all walks of life.
The total number of donations reached about 1,200 cases, and all collected cash and goods will be entrusted to the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest.
The district plans to award plaques and certificates of appreciation to individuals and organizations that actively contributed to this project and send letters of gratitude to donors in March.
In addition, departments with outstanding performance will receive bonuses, and employees who led the donations will be awarded commendations. A Guro-gu official said, “Despite difficult economic conditions such as rising prices, we were able to achieve good results thanks to donors who put their neighbors first and shared warm hearts,” adding, “We will do our best to ensure that the precious donations and goods are distributed evenly to those in need.”
