Shin Ji-ae, who has risen to first place in the all-time prize money rankings in Japan, has climbed to 23rd in the world rankings.
In the women's golf weekly world rankings announced on the 10th (local time), she received 2.77 points, jumping five places from 28th last week. She earned points by finishing tied for 2nd at the Daikin Orchid Ladies Golf Tournament (total prize money 120 million yen), the opening event of the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) Tour, which concluded the previous day at Ryukyu Golf Club (par 72) in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. Shin Ji-ae received prize money of 8.72 million yen (approximately 86 million KRW), increasing her cumulative prize money to 1,380,743,405 yen (approximately 13.5 billion KRW), securing first place. This is a remarkable record achieved in her 300th career start on the JLPGA Tour.
There were no changes in the top ranks. Nelly Korda (USA), Jinny Tittikun (Thailand), Lydia Ko (New Zealand), Lin Ying (China), and Hannah Green (Australia) maintained their positions in the top 5. South Korea's rankings were Ko Jin-young 8th, Yoo Hae-ran 9th, Yang Hee-young 13th, Yoon In-na 25th, Lim Jin-hee 28th, Kim Hyo-joo 29th, and Kim Ah-rim 33rd. Takeda Rio, winner of the Blue Bay LPGA Championship on the U.S. LPGA Tour, ranked 15th, and Iwai Chisato, winner of the Japanese opening event, ranked 43rd (both from Japan).
