Arc & Partners Joins as Second Largest Shareholder
Beomgyu Lee to Remain as Major Shareholder and CEO
Domestic IT startup TeamSparta announced on the 10th that it is scheduled to sign an investment contract with Arc & Partners. With this investment, Arc & Partners will become the second largest shareholder following CEO Beomgyu Lee, the existing major shareholder. CEO Beomgyu Lee will continue to lead management as the largest shareholder and CEO.
Arc & Partners is known as an asset management firm that actively employs a ‘Growth Buyout’ strategy. Beyond simple capital investment, it collaborates with existing management to establish and execute growth strategies, pursuing a strategy that continuously increases corporate value. It has a track record of making large-scale investments and driving growth in promising companies such as Korea’s No.1 business card service ‘Remember’, lifestyle service brokerage platform ‘Soongo’, and street fashion select shop company ‘Kasina’.
TeamSparta is a company that possesses various IT talent education products, including the government-supported developer training project ‘Naeil Baeum Camp (KDT)’, online coding education ‘Sparta Coding Club’, business-to-business (B2B) corporate training, and ‘Hanghae99’ for developer career advancement. It is rapidly growing recently through continuous curriculum innovation focused on non-majors and the early adoption of artificial intelligence (AI). After recording sales of 31.8 billion KRW in 2023, it recorded sales exceeding 60 billion KRW last year.
Based on this investment attraction, TeamSparta plans to actively expand recruitment of outstanding talent and pursue mergers and acquisitions (M&A) of outsourcing companies. Its ambition is not only to cultivate competitive IT talent in the recruitment market but also to become an IT consortium that creates new business opportunities based on the talents produced through TeamSparta’s education system.
Beomgyu Lee, CEO of TeamSparta, said, “The investment attraction from Arc & Partners is a major strategic decision directly linked to TeamSparta’s bigger and faster growth,” adding, “2025 will be a year when TeamSparta takes off as an IT consortium, led by businesses such as education, outsourcing, and gaming.”
