SK Corp. Appoints Energy and International Relations Expert as New Outside Director

SK Co., Ltd. has nominated Lee Kwan-young, a researcher at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), and Jung Jong-ho, a professor at Seoul National University Graduate School of International Studies, as new outside directors.


SK Co., Ltd. announced on the 10th that it will propose the agenda for the appointment of these new outside directors at the shareholders' meeting scheduled for the 26th. They will succeed outside directors Yeom Jae-ho and Kim Byung-ho, whose six-year terms are coming to an end.


Nominee Lee Kwan-young is an expert well-versed in the energy and chemical fields, recognized for his research capabilities with over 350 papers published in international journals, and has been awarded the Order of Science and Technology. He has served as the dean of graduate school and vice president of research at Korea University, as well as president of the Korean Energy Society.


Nominee Jung Jong-ho is an international relations expert who has served as dean of the Graduate School of International Studies, head of the International Cooperation Headquarters, and director of the China Research Institute at Seoul National University. He also served as an outside director of SK Gas for six years starting in 2017.


SK Co., Ltd. will also propose the agenda for the reappointment of Chairman Chey Tae-won as an inside director and the new appointment of Kang Dong-soo, head of SK Co., Ltd.'s PM Division, as an inside director.
