Hongseong County Aims to Secure 465.4 Billion Won in National and Provincial Funds Next Year Hongseong County Holds Strategic Meeting to Secure National Road Funding

On the afternoon of the 10th, Hongseong County in Chungnam held a strategic briefing session at the county office's main auditorium to secure national and provincial funding for new future growth engine projects in 2026. The event was attended by County Governor Lee Yongrok, National Assembly member Kang Seungkyu, Chairman Kim Deokbae, and Chungnam Provincial Council members Lee Junghwa and Lee Sanggeun, among others.


At the briefing, the county requested active cooperation from the National Assembly and provincial council members to secure a total of 465.4 billion KRW in national and provincial funding for 99 pending projects next year, including 350 billion KRW in national funds and 115.4 billion KRW in provincial funds.


The projects targeted for funding include: ▲Chungnam RISE Project (41 billion KRW), ▲Yongbongsan Area Regional Win-Win Hub Development (18 billion KRW), ▲Land-based Seaweed Aquaculture Testbed Construction (11.6 billion KRW), ▲Establishment of Chungnam University Naepo Campus (46.9 billion KRW), and ▲Establishment of Chungnam Innovation City Science Gifted School (total project cost of 84.1 billion KRW).


In addition, core regional development projects such as ▲Construction of access roads and new industrial water supply for Hongseong 2nd General Industrial Complex (27.2 billion KRW), ▲Additional development of multifunctional fishing port at Namdang Port (45 billion KRW), and ▲Construction of a parking tower in the Naepo Central Commercial District (27.5 billion KRW) were also included.


National Assembly member Kang Seungkyu, provincial council members, and county council members agreed to continue close communication and work together going forward.


The county plans to do its utmost to secure national and provincial funding by building personal networks with legislators and responding swiftly and flexibly according to the government’s policy direction and local financial challenges.


County Governor Lee Yongrok said, "I am grateful for the efforts and interest of National Assembly member Kang Seungkyu and all the council members who are working tirelessly for the development of Hongseong," adding, "Even in these difficult times of fiscal austerity, we will do our utmost to secure national and provincial funding to proactively drive future projects for regional development."


Meanwhile, Hongseong County announced that, along with this strategic briefing session, each department will establish plans to visit Chungnam Province and central government ministries and will actively engage in on-site persuasion activities to secure national and provincial funding.
