Advancement of the Basic System Underway
Last Year's GobizKorea Export Performance Reaches $155 Million
The Vietnamese version of 'GobizKorea' will officially open by the end of this year. GobizKorea is an online business-to-business (B2B) export platform operated by the Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC). The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and SBC have been promoting the transfer of this platform model as an Official Development Assistance (ODA) project. As the results of this project begin to materialize, support for exports by Vietnamese small and medium enterprises (SMEs) is expected to gain momentum.
According to SBC on the 11th, the first phase of transferring the GobizKorea business model to Vietnam was completed last year, including the establishment of the basic system, supply of equipment, and capacity-building training. Currently, the second phase involves the advancement of the basic system. The official opening is scheduled for the end of this year.
SBC has been working on building a local platform based on GobizKorea. Although 98% of all enterprises in Vietnam are SMEs, they face difficulties in online exports due to a lack of e-commerce infrastructure. GobizKorea’s model was proposed as a solution to this issue.
This is because the export support effect of GobizKorea has been proven domestically. Operating since 1996, GobizKorea is a representative B2B platform visited by more than 20 million buyers annually. Domestic SMEs can join GobizKorea free of charge, and member companies can promote their products to overseas buyers in real time through various methods. Direct inquiries often lead to exports. Last year, purchase inquiries through GobizKorea reached 30,184, and export volume amounted to 155 million USD. Considering that the export performance in 2021 was 128 million USD, this represents an increase of more than 20% in three years.
The Vietnamese version of GobizKorea will focus not only on supporting system construction but also on transferring operational and management know-how, aiming to establish itself as a local online B2B export platform that can replicate domestic success. Additionally, the platform plans to expand connections between local SMEs and overseas buyers and support successful online exports.
Domestically, the 'Online Export Platform Project' has been conducted annually to facilitate B2B exports between SMEs and overseas buyers using GobizKorea. This year, applications will be accepted until the end of this month, and a total of 250 companies will be selected through document screening. Selected companies will receive step-by-step services necessary for online exports, including product page and corporate promotional website creation within GobizKorea, search engine marketing support, product promotional video production, overseas exhibition participation agency, post-purchase order management, and export contract support.
