This agreement is part of the Uijeongbu Complex Cultural Convergence District urban development project, with the market site where Emart will be located covering a total area of 72,728㎡. Through this, Emart is expected to become the center of the local commercial district.
After the signing ceremony, Mayor Kim Dong-geun and Emart officials visited the Complex Cultural Convergence District site to inspect the current status of the project site and discuss plans for establishing distribution facilities. Both parties agreed to strengthen cooperation and concretize win-win measures through close collaboration.
Through this agreement, the city will provide active administrative support to ensure the smooth opening of the Emart store. Emart plans not only to enhance shopping convenience for citizens and contribute to revitalizing the local economy but also to promote coexistence with small and medium-sized merchants and prioritize hiring local residents to help create jobs.
An Emart representative stated, “We will strive to provide citizens with a wonderful shopping space befitting the dignity of a central city in the northern metropolitan area, where Emart’s know-how and capabilities are concentrated.”
Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “We expect to achieve two goals through the agreement with Emart: revitalizing the local economy and improving citizen convenience,” adding, “We will continue to expand cooperation with local businesses to establish a foundation for sustainable growth.”
Taking this agreement as an opportunity, the city anticipates building a sustainable growth model and revitalizing the local economy through cooperation with large distribution companies, and plans to actively promote community development by strengthening public-private partnerships in the future.
