Women's Association Council Donates 3 Million Won to Help Neighbors in Need
On the morning of the 10th, Chungnam Governor Kim Tae-heum held a meeting in the provincial government’s main conference room with Kang Imgeum, President of the Chungnam Women’s Association Council, city and county presidents, and about 20 members. They discussed ways to enhance women's rights and strengthen their roles in society.
Prior to the meeting, the Chungnam Women’s Association Council delivered a donation of 3 million won to Governor Kim Tae-heum to support neighbors in need.
The province plans to use the donated funds, received on this day, to support marginalized groups in the region through the Chungnam Community Chest of Korea.
During the meeting, the Chungnam Women’s Association Council and the city and county presidents conveyed various issues and suggestions faced by local women to Governor Kim, requesting efforts to promote women's rights and strengthen the capabilities of female leaders.
The province plans to actively incorporate the opinions presented at this meeting with the Chungnam Women’s Association Council into women's policies, seek ways for mutual cooperation to enhance women's rights in the region, and continue discussions for the development of local women's policies.
Governor Kim Tae-heum expressed his gratitude to the council for standing by residents in need through the donation, emphasizing, “At the heart of the 8th popularly elected Chungnam administration are women.”
Governor Kim also mentioned achievements such as advancing to the upper-middle ranks in the regional gender equality index, promoting the completion of the Women's Family Plaza, and implementing the Chungnam-style Full Care policy to support women's capacity building and social participation. He stated, “We will create an environment where childbirth and parenting are not burdens, so that women can confidently balance work and family life.”
