Changwon Special City Discusses Plans for New Construction of Gaeumjeong 119 Safety Center Changwon Special City, Convergence and Communication Meeting for the Construction of Gaeumjeong 119 Safety Center.

The Gaeumjeong 119 Safety Center, built in 1990, is in need of reconstruction due to aging facilities. The city's Public Facility Planning Division conducted a public facility supply and demand analysis, concluding that rebuilding at the current location near Gaeumjeong Market would be unreasonable due to demolition and temporary office costs. Alternative solutions were discussed in response to these findings.

During the meeting, various opinions were presented by each department. The Urban Planning Division emphasized that land use efficiency should be the top priority, while the Parks and Green Spaces Division requested that changes to buffer green spaces be reviewed carefully with fairness in mind.

The Seongsan Fire Station requested the securing of a garage to accommodate high-rise and articulated ladder trucks, considering nearby high-rise apartments, and stated that the optimal design for firefighting activities, including these vehicles, would be considered.

Deputy Mayor Cho Myungrae said, "I hope this meeting will serve as a pilot model for the decision-making structure in public facility construction by allowing different departments to cross-check each other's work and identify issues in advance," adding, "All processes must be transparent and efficient."

Meanwhile, the new construction project for the Gaeumjeong 119 Safety Center involves building a new facility with a total floor area of 990 square meters and 4 to 5 above-ground floors, as the existing building near the current Gaeumjeong Market has severely deteriorated.
