Free Tax Consultation for Small Business Owners, Self-Employed, and Citizens in Need
The Village Tax Accountant system operated by Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) is becoming a reliable support for citizens struggling with tax issues.
According to Goyang Special City on the 10th, currently, 40 village tax accountants?the largest number nationwide?are active in Goyang City, and 1,254 consultations were conducted last year alone.
The Village Tax Accountant system is a public service that provides free tax consultations to economically disadvantaged residents through the talent donation of tax accountants recommended by the Goyang Tax Accountants Association and the East Goyang Tax Accountants Association. It is especially helpful to citizens facing difficulties with tax issues, such as small business owners and micro-entrepreneurs.
The usage method is simple. Citizens who wish to receive consultation can check their local village tax accountant on the Goyang City Hall website (Electronic Civil Service > Civil Service by Field > Tax > Village Tax Accountant), administrative welfare centers, or the civil service call center, and then apply for consultation via phone, fax, or email.
If the first consultation is insufficient and a second consultation is desired, additional meetings are possible. However, since priority is given to vulnerable groups and micro-business owners, consultations may be restricted for those with property or income above a certain amount.
An official from Goyang Special City said, "We are grateful to the village tax accountants who support resolving the tax difficulties of citizens in need. Various tax-related inquiries such as tax filing, delinquency issues, inheritance and gift tax consultations are available, so we hope citizens struggling with tax problems will use the Village Tax Accountant system to resolve their tax issues."
