Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced on the 10th that a total of 58,262 residents and tourists boarded the "Halla Snow Flower Bus," which operated from December 21 last year to March 3 this year for exploring the snowy scenery of Hallasan.
During weekends and holidays, the bus operated for a total of 24 days, serving 33,545 people (1,398 people per day), while on weekdays, it ran for 26 days, serving 24,717 people (951 people per day).
The Halla Snow Flower Bus was introduced to encourage fewer private vehicles traveling to the 1100 Highland during winter, helping to alleviate traffic congestion in the area and providing a unique experience to enjoy the snowy landscape of Hallasan.
Starting with the 1100 bus departing from Jeju City Bus Terminal on December 21 last year, the 1100-1 bus, departing from Seogwipo Registry Office, was added from January 25 this year to enhance convenience for residents and tourists in the Seogwipo area.
Initially, the Halla Snow Flower Bus operated only on weekends and holidays, but due to a surge in visitors following continuous snowfall in mountain areas around Hallasan this year, weekday operations were added from January 13.
Kim Taewan, Director of the Transportation and Aviation Bureau of Jeju Province, stated, "We will expand the operation of the Halla Snow Flower Bus so that more residents and tourists can enjoy the snowy scenery of Hallasan in the upcoming winter," and added, "We will also prepare measures to alleviate traffic congestion on the 1100 Road and improve the quality of public transportation services."
