The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 10th that they will hold a contest for 'local travel products' capturing the authentic charm of the region in connection with the Tourism Dure resident enterprises until the 28th.
Tourism Dure is a project that supports local resident communities in starting and growing tourism businesses with unique local characteristics in areas such as accommodation, food and beverage, and experiences. Currently, about 200 resident enterprises are operating in 50 basic local governments.

This contest was planned to revitalize local tourism by commercializing distinctive tourism content unique to Tourism Dure into travel products.
Travel agencies that can develop and operate travel products in connection with Tourism Dure resident enterprises are eligible to participate if they are registered as general travel agencies or domestic and international travel agencies under the Tourism Promotion Act. Travel products must include two or more resident enterprises currently participating or with participation history in the Tourism Dure project.
After document screening and presentation evaluation, five final travel products (travel agencies) will be selected. The organization plans to support the selected travel agencies with operating expenses up to 15 million KRW based on their customer attraction performance.
Detailed information about the contest can be found on the Korea Tourism Industry Portal 'Touraz'.
Kwon Jong-sul, Head of Tourism Enterprise Support at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "We hope that the newly introduced local travel products through this contest will invigorate local tourism and the local economy, and provide the public with opportunities to experience unique tourism content from each region."
