Ulju County Launches Small-Scale Parking Lot Support Project to Ease Parking Shortage

and "Free Opening of Auxiliary Parking Lots"

Ulsan Ulju-gun announced on the 10th that it will implement the "Support Project for Having Your Own Parking Lot" and the "Support Project for Free Opening of Auxiliary Parking Lots" to alleviate parking shortages in residential areas.

The "Support Project for Having Your Own Parking Lot" is being carried out to ease illegal parking issues along roads and to create a pleasant urban environment. This project supports the conversion of unused spaces within homes into parking lots.

Applications are open to those who wish to install parking lots by remodeling or removing fences and gates of existing detached or multi-family houses. The support amount is up to 3 million KRW for detached houses and 1 million KRW per space for multi-family houses.

Additionally, Ulju-gun is also promoting the "Support Project for Free Opening of Auxiliary Parking Lots," which provides facility improvement subsidies to landowners and others if they open unused parking spaces at public institutions, schools, religious facilities, and multi-family houses to residents free of charge.

This project provides up to 50 million KRW in facility improvement subsidies on the condition that at least five parking spaces are opened for free for more than seven hours a day and more than 35 hours a week, either during the day or night, for two years.

The subsidy can be used for purposes such as installing guide signs for open parking lots, painting parking spaces within the lot, and installing outdoor security lights or CCTV cameras.

Applications for support can be submitted by visiting the Eup/Myeon Administrative Welfare Center or the Transportation Policy Division of Ulju-gun Office with the application form and required documents by May.

Ulju-gun plans to finalize the support recipients after document review and on-site inspection procedures, and then provide the subsidies.

An Ulju-gun official said, "We will carry out various projects to resolve parking shortages and improve parking convenience for residents in Ulju-gun," and added, "We ask for the great interest and active participation of all Ulju-gun residents."
