Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced on the 10th that, with the start of the reconstruction work of the municipal day and night care center, services will be provided to users by relocating to a temporary building.
The municipal day and night care center, "Paju City Eunbit Sarangchae," was completed in 1987 and has been in use for about 38 years until 2024. However, due to its aging condition and limited area (272.2㎡, 2nd floor), it has been difficult to adequately respond to the increasing demand for elderly welfare.
Accordingly, Paju City decided to demolish the existing building and proceed with reconstruction. The newly constructed municipal day and night care center will be built from the 1st floor to the 4th floor above ground, with a total floor area of 479㎡.
Completion is targeted for September this year, and after completion, the capacity will increase from the current 21 people to 40 people, allowing for the accommodation of more users. Additionally, the new building will include a dementia-specialized room, which has been lacking in the northern region of Paju, enabling the fulfillment of care demands for elderly dementia patients.
To ensure uninterrupted service provision, Paju City will lease a building located at 904-3 Seonyu-ri, Munsan-eup, and continue to provide services such as day and night care, home care services, and 365 elderly care services.
