Anyangcheon Ecological Experience Classroom, Climate Crisis Response Education, and Environmental Experience Education for Students
Customized experiential opportunities tailored to students, including theoretical education, observation learning, and ecological activities
Guro-gu will promote customized carbon-neutral environmental education for students in 2025.
This environmental education program was prepared to inform students about the seriousness of the climate crisis and the importance of environmental conservation, and to encourage the practice of carbon-neutral living.
The district has prepared various educational programs, including eco-friendly activities that students can practice in their daily lives, to enhance their understanding of environmental issues.
First, the ‘Anyangcheon Ecological Experience Classroom’ with an ecological interpreter will be held every weekday morning from April to November at locations such as Gocheokgyo, Ogeumgyo, and the riverside under Guil Station along Anyangcheon.
It will be conducted as a hands-on education program that stimulates interest, targeting elementary school students in the area, including observing flowers, insects, and birds of Anyangcheon, and making natural objects according to grade level.
Additionally, the district has prepared ‘Climate Crisis Response Education’ to inform about environmental protection methods that can be practiced in daily life.
From April to October, climate instructors will visit elementary schools to conduct experiential education using renewable energy teaching aids such as solar and wind power, explaining the causes of the climate crisis and response methods in an easy-to-understand manner.
Lastly, the ‘Environmental Experience Education’ will be conducted once each in the first and second half of the year for about 500 students in the district. Hands-on educational programs such as practicing carbon neutrality and making upcycled products have been prepared.
Applications for each education program will be conducted for elementary school classes, and detailed information can be obtained by contacting the Environmental Division of Guro-gu Office. A Guro-gu official said, “Through this customized environmental education, we hope students will lead small changes in their daily lives to promote environmental conservation and carbon neutrality,” adding, “We will continue to strive to operate various eco-friendly education programs.”
Last year, a total of about 4,300 people participated in the Anyangcheon Ecological Experience Classroom, Climate Crisis Response Education, and Environmental Experience Education, receiving great responses from students.
