According to a People Power Party official on the 9th, Chairman Kwon is scheduled to hold a private meeting with the medical community at the National Assembly on the 10th. The meeting will be attended by Hwang Gyu-seok, Vice President of the Korean Medical Association and President of the Seoul Medical Association, among others, and from the People Power Party, Assemblyman In Yo-han, who is a medical doctor, will participate.
Discussions at this meeting are expected to focus on the recently announced government support measures for medical education.
Earlier, on the 7th, the Ministry of Education announced the '2025 Medical Education Support Plan,' which states that if medical school students return within this month, the number of medical school admissions for the 2026 academic year will be frozen at 3,058, the level before the increase.
The People Power Party had previously expressed the position that it is reasonable to adjust next year's medical school admissions to 3,058 before the Ministry of Education's announcement.
