Ulleung County in North Gyeongsang Province held the opening ceremony for this year's Ulleung County Lifelong Education Leader Training Course on the 7th.
This program is conducted over a total of 15 sessions (45 hours) for Ulleung County residents who wish to volunteer as professional village education leaders.
This is a certification course that invites professors and experts in the field of lifelong education as instructors to train leaders who will guide lifelong learning at the village level.
Graduates of the training course will be awarded a Level 2 Village Lifelong Education Leader certificate. Those who obtain the qualification will go through a selection process and gain practical skills and experience, taking the lead in revitalizing lifelong learning in the region by teaching abacus classes for seniors at senior centers and running village-level lifelong learning programs.
County Governor Nam Han-gwon said, "The role of lifelong education leaders is important for the activation of lifelong learning led by the private sector," and added, "We will continue to work hard to foster a lifelong learning culture, hoping for Ulleung County to be designated as a lifelong learning city."
