Tongchuwi Conducts Poll Among Four Preliminary Candidates
Acting Superintendent Joins Late, Excluded from Unification
Jung Seungyun, a preliminary candidate for Busan Metropolitan City Superintendent of Education, was selected on the 9th as the unified candidate for the moderate-conservative camp, promoted by the 'Busan Metropolitan City Moderate-Conservative Superintendent Unification Promotion Committee (Tongchuwi)'.
Jeong Seungyun, candidate for Busan Superintendent of Education, is cheering after being selected as the unified moderate-conservative candidate.
In his acceptance speech as the unified candidate, Jung Seungyun stated, "Now, it's a new beginning," and added, "I will definitely safeguard the future of Busan's education. Jung Seungyun will set Busan's education right."
Previously, Tongchuwi conducted a public opinion poll on the 7th and 8th for the unification of candidates, including Jung Seungyun, Park Sujong, Park Jongpil, and Jeon Younggeun.
Jung Seungyun said, "I express my respect and consolation to Park Sujong, Park Jongpil, and Jeon Younggeun, who engaged in fair competition," and continued, "I will embrace and integrate the passionate commitment and excellent policies of these three candidates for Busan's education."
He further emphasized, "I will deeply engrave in my heart the wishes of Busan citizens who hope for the future of Busan's education," and added, "I will nurture children with the strength to think and question, and foster 100,000 global talents in Busan."
Choi Yunhong, another moderate-conservative preliminary candidate who announced his bid for the Busan superintendent by-election, raised concerns about the timing of the unification process and demanded complete unification.
Choi Yunhong argued, "With the new semester just ahead, as acting superintendent and deputy superintendent, I could not neglect my heavy responsibilities to register early as a preliminary candidate for the superintendent by-election," and added, "If this election is ruined due to the failure of complete unification among moderate-conservatives, there will be no way to avoid responsibility."
