[Today’s Weather] Daytime High 15°C... Dense Fog in Central Regions

On Sunday the 9th, the whole country will be generally mild, with a temperature difference between day and night around 15 degrees Celsius.


According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 9th, temperatures will be similar to or slightly higher than the average (lowest -4 to 4 degrees, highest 8 to 12 degrees). Especially as daytime temperatures rise, most regions nationwide will experience a temperature difference between day and night of over 10 degrees, with inland areas seeing around 15 degrees difference.


The morning low temperature will be between -3 and 4 degrees, and the daytime high temperature will be between 10 and 15 degrees.

The morning low temperatures in major areas are Seoul 2 degrees, Incheon 2 degrees, Suwon 0 degrees, Chuncheon -3 degrees, Gangneung 2 degrees, Cheongju 0 degrees, Daejeon -1 degree, Jeonju 0 degrees, Gwangju 1 degree, Daegu 2 degrees, Busan 5 degrees, and Jeju 6 degrees.


The daytime high temperatures are Seoul 13 degrees, Incheon 11 degrees, Suwon 12 degrees, Chuncheon 14 degrees, Gangneung 10 degrees, Cheongju 13 degrees, Daejeon 14 degrees, Jeonju 14 degrees, Gwangju 15 degrees, Daegu 14 degrees, Busan 13 degrees, and Jeju 13 degrees.


Dense fog is expected in some areas, mainly in the central region, so caution is advised for traffic safety. From late night the previous day until the morning of the 9th, dense fog with visibility under 200 meters will occur in Incheon, western Gyeonggi, southeastern Gyeonggi, southern inland Gangwon, and Chungnam, and other areas will experience fog with visibility under 1 km.


Especially on bridges located on the coast, roads near inland rivers, lakes, and valleys, fog will be thicker than surrounding areas. Due to the fog, drizzle may occur in some places, and fog freezing on the ground may cause icy roads or black ice.


Fine dust levels are expected to be 'bad' in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon Yeongseo, Chungcheong region, Gwangju, and Jeonbuk, while other regions will have 'moderate' levels. However, from the afternoon, Jeonnam and Jeju areas are expected to show 'bad' levels.
