Opposition potential leaders criticized the prosecution for releasing President Yoon Seok-yeol following the court's decision to cancel the arrest on the 8th, while calling for the unity of citizens.
Former Gyeongnam Governor Kim Kyung-soo appealed through social media (SNS) on the day, saying, "Let us protect the impeachment with the united power of the citizens."
Former Governor Kim said, "The Prosecutor General and the prosecution leadership have proven themselves to be accomplices in this rebellion," adding, "It once again confirmed why the prosecution must be fundamentally reformed. The prosecution can never escape the judgment of the people."

He continued, "With Yoon Seok-yeol's release, our society has entered a state of civil war again," and appealed, "Now, the last bastion of democracy is only the united power of the citizens." He urged, "Let us drive out the darkness of rebellion with the united power of the citizens and protect the impeachment," and also requested, "Let us reform Korean society from the roots through an overwhelming regime change."
Former Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum also pointed out through SNS regarding President Yoon's release that "procedural errors in the indictment process provided an excuse," and said, "He is the main culprit who destroyed democracy and the rule of law. There is no remorse in his appearance immediately after release. There is no sense of responsibility toward our community."
Former Prime Minister Kim expressed concern about the remaining trial process, saying, "The restoration of constitutional order and democracy is urgent. The court and prosecution must handle the rebellion with a responsible attitude."
Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon criticized, "While the perpetrators of the rebellion are under detention and investigation, the actual ringleader of the rebellion has been released," and said, "The Prosecutor General, who should be loyal to the country and the people, ultimately showed loyalty to the 'appointing authority' and the 'prosecution ringleader.'"
Governor Kim urged, "Though legal manipulators may muddy the waters, they cannot turn back the river," and called for, "Let us move forward unwaveringly for the punishment of the rebellion and a new country."
