"They may muddy the waters,
but they cannot reverse the river"
Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon criticized the release of President Yoon Seok-yeol on the 8th, saying, "The Prosecutor General, who should be loyal to the country and its people, ultimately pledged loyalty to the 'appointing authority' and the 'head of the prosecution'."
On the same day, Governor Kim said on his social media, "While the main perpetrators of the rebellion are under arrest and investigation, the actual ringleader of the rebellion has been released."
He stated, "The released ringleader is causing further division in the country under the pretext of 'rule of law,' and although the lawbreakers can muddy the waters, they cannot reverse the river," emphasizing his point.
He added, "Spring will surely come," and said, "Let us move forward unwaveringly for the punishment of the rebellion and for a new nation. I will take one more step forward. I will stand together until the end in a coalition of light."
Meanwhile, President Yoon was released 52 days after the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (Gongsoocheo) executed an arrest warrant on charges of leading the rebellion, following the court's decision to cancel his detention and the prosecution's immediate withdrawal of an appeal.
