Ya5dang on Yoon's Release: "The Treasonous Forces' Ambition Rises Again, Prosecution Must Immediately Appeal"

"Prosecutor General as Co-Conspirator in Rebellion,
Prosecution Urged to Immediately File an Appeal"

President Yoon Suk-yeol was released from Seoul Detention Center on the afternoon of the 8th following the court's acceptance of the request to cancel his detention, while the five opposition parties including the Democratic Party warned that "the ambitions of the rebel forces are rising again."

The five opposition parties issued a joint statement saying, "The rebel leader Yoon Suk-yeol is a 'criminal of history' who destroyed democracy, suppressed the people's freedom, and schemed a long-term dictatorship." They expressed "strong regret over the court's acceptance of the request to cancel Yoon Suk-yeol's detention," and said, "We strongly condemn the Prosecutor General who is effectively walking the path of a co-conspirator in rebellion, and urge the prosecution to immediately file an appeal."

They claimed, "Our people clearly remember the rebellion carried out by Yoon Suk-yeol on the night of December 3 last year," and added, "No matter how much legal technicalities are used, the fact that the National Assembly and the National Election Commission were invaded and armed forces blocked the National Assembly that night cannot be erased."

They emphasized, "Our people have already dismissed Yoon Suk-yeol. Our people will never tolerate the rebel leader roaming the streets," and said, "Even after being impeached, the rebel leader Yoon Suk-yeol has not reflected but instead ordered obstruction of arrest, incited court riots, and deceived the people with lies."

The five opposition parties warned, "The People Power Party and far-right pseudo forces are indulging in delusions of the rebel leader's presidential return and are carrying out oppressive riots against the Constitutional Court," adding, "The rebel forces continuously incite division among the people and are driving the country into a whirlpool of chaos. Even after Yoon Suk-yeol's dismissal, they will refuse to accept the constitutional order and democracy, and will try to protect the rebellion while betraying the sovereign."

They continued, "But just as a strong late-winter cold snap cannot stop spring, even if the desperate struggles of the rebel leader Yoon Suk-yeol and the rebel forces seem successful, they cannot escape the judgment of the constitution, the people, and history," and raised their voices, saying, "In the end, the people will win. Justice will prevail."

The five opposition parties said, "Our great people blocked armored vehicles and weapons with bare hands on the night of December 3," and "On December 14, they made the impeachment train head to the National Assembly and the Constitutional Court. We will completely suppress their military rebellion here in this square filled with colorful lights." They declared, "We will join hands with our great people to complete the revolution of light," and shouted, "We will not let go of the people's hands until the rebellion ends and will fight together to the very end."

On the same day, President Yoon was released 41 days after being detained and indicted on January 26 on charges of leading a rebellion, and 52 days after his arrest on January 15.
