Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 8th that it signed a 'Traffic Safety Business Agreement' with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority (Chairman Jeong Yong-sik) on the 7th.

This agreement was established to create an eco-friendly mobility environment and establish an advanced traffic culture through cooperation between Uijeongbu City, the transportation hub of northern Gyeonggi, and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, the only comprehensive traffic safety specialized institution in Korea.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲promotion of eco-friendly vehicle use ▲activation of safety education related to electric vehicles ▲support projects for elderly drivers and drivers of vehicles at welfare facilities for the elderly ▲activation of demand-responsive public transportation systems.
At the signing ceremony, Mayor Kim Dong-geun, Chairman Jeong Yong-sik of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, and officials from both organizations attended to share the direction of traffic safety policies and discuss regional traffic issues such as eco-friendly vehicles and elderly driver projects.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “Through this agreement, we expect Uijeongbu City to leap forward as a safer and more sustainable transportation city,” and added, “We will continue to exchange and cooperate with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority to create an eco-friendly mobility environment and establish an advanced traffic culture.”
