Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Jeon Jin-seon) announced on the 8th that Baek Nan-young has been appointed as the 7th CEO of the Semiwon Foundation.
CEO Baek is a garden expert who will promote the designation of Semiwon, Gyeonggi Province's first local garden, as a national garden and successfully host the 2026 Gyeonggi Garden Culture Expo. She was officially appointed after completing the personnel hearing process at the Yangpyeong County Council on the 4th.
CEO Baek Nan-young completed her Ph.D. in Engineering (Landscape Architecture) at Sungkyunkwan University Graduate School. She has worked for many years in garden design and construction, served as the director of the National Yangpyeong Healing Forest under the Korea Forest Welfare Institute affiliated with the Korea Forest Service for four years, and most recently worked as a professor at Jeonju Kijeon College.
Her term is two years, from March 4, 2025, to March 3, 2027.
A Yangpyeong-gun official said, "CEO Baek Nan-young is an expert in landscape and garden fields, and we expect that, based on her diverse frontline experience and work history at public institutions such as the Korea Forest Service, she will help Semiwon take a significant leap forward."
