This year's focus areas for cleanup during the school opening season include areas around elementary schools such as ▲Children Protection Zones (300m from main entrances), ▲Educational Environment Protection Zones under the 'Education Environment Act' (300m from boundary lines), and ▲Food Safety Protection Zones under the 'Children's Food Safety Act', as well as streets with dense commercial and entertainment establishments along commuting routes.

To this end, the city plans to organize illegal advertisement cleanup teams in cooperation with the administrative welfare centers of each town, township, and neighborhood, and conduct joint inspections.

They will remove youth-harmful advertisements posted on shops and entertainment venues near schools with heavy foot traffic, as well as ▲signboards that obstruct traffic or pedestrian movement, ▲political banners violating installation standards, and ▲old and worn-out signboards. Advertisements that threaten traffic safety will be immediately removed, and owners will be encouraged to voluntarily remove outdated or illegal fixed advertisements.

Furthermore, to efficiently crack down on indiscriminately distributed illegal advertisements even after this cleanup activity, the city will implement an automatic illegal advertisement warning phone service and a citizen participation collection reward system, continuing sustained enforcement efforts.

Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City stated, “We will strive to improve the urban landscape by conducting a comprehensive cleanup of illegal advertisements around elementary schools during the school opening season and provide students with a safe and clean learning environment.”
