BHHI has succeeded in securing another key facility at the Shin Hanul Units 3 and 4 nuclear power plant.
On the 7th, BHHI announced that it had been selected as the supplier for the 'Condenser (CON) and auxiliary equipment' for Shin Hanul Units 3 and 4 by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power.
The contract amount is 46.83 billion KRW, which corresponds to approximately 12.7% of last year's sales. BHHI will supply a total of four Balance of Plant (BOP) auxiliary devices for the Shin Hanul Units 3 and 4 project. The accumulated contract amount secured has increased to about 150 billion KRW.
Previously, BHHI had secured orders for three items: Stainless Steel Liner (SSLW), Containment Building Steel Plate (CLP), and Containment Building Piping Penetration (CPP). With the addition of the condenser, BHHI has further solidified its position in the nuclear power plant equipment sector.
The condenser is a key facility that cools the steam discharged from the steam turbine and converts it into condensate, improving the efficiency of the power plant and enabling the recycling of pure water. BHHI has successfully exported a total of three condensers to Vogtle Unit 3 nuclear power plant in Georgia, USA, through Toshiba in 2011, including domestic Shin Wolsong Units 1 and 2. The company has built numerous supply records both domestically and internationally.
A BHHI official stated, "Our excellent technology, global export references, and strict adherence to delivery schedules were highly evaluated, enabling us to succeed in securing orders even in the highly competitive condenser field." He added, "Securing four out of the seven BOP product portfolios of our company is a very meaningful achievement."
BOP refers to all the equipment within a power plant excluding major main equipment such as the reactor. It is commonly applied not only to large nuclear power plants but also to next-generation nuclear power plants such as Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). BHHI plans to create significant achievements in the global market based on its high technological capabilities in related fields.
