The Democratic Party of Korea convened an emergency Supreme Council meeting on the 7th to discuss countermeasures related to the cancellation of President Yoon Seok-yeol's detention.

Following the Supreme Council meeting, the Democratic Party also plans to hold an emergency party caucus.

The Democratic Party notified its members that an emergency caucus will be held at the National Assembly at 3:30 PM that day. The message stated it was an "emergency situation."

Earlier, the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 25 (Presiding Judge Ji Gui-yeon) approved the request to cancel President Yoon's detention.

Accordingly, President Yoon will stand trial while released.

President Yoon, who was released from Seoul Detention Center, is expected to move to the official residence in Hannam-dong, Seoul.

The court ruled that it is reasonable to consider that President Yoon was indicted after the detention period had expired. Furthermore, even if he was indicted before the detention period ended, the court recognized the grounds for cancellation of detention.
