Limited Edition Release... First-Come, First-Served Sales at Main Venue
Six Types Including Nap Pillows, Coin Pouches, and Magnets
Gwangyang City, Jeonnam, announced on the 7th that the pop-up store "Maedol-i Goods Shop" will open for the first time at the 24th Gwangyang Maehwa Festival.
Maedol-i goods are Gwangyang’s signature souvenirs featuring "Maedol-i," a character inspired by the region’s specialty plum, with a cute and charming design. They have been widely loved by both children and adults. However, since they were not for sale, they were previously only available as prizes for event winners.

The city plans to operate the "Maedol-i Goods Shop" during the 24th Gwangyang Maehwa Festival, offering limited edition Maedol-i goods for sale to provide visitors with a special memory of the festival.
At the "Maedol-i Goods Shop," a total of six types of Maedol-i goods, including nap pillows, parking number plates, and coin pouches, will be sold individually, as two-item sets, or as full sets, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Prices are as follows: magnets at 5,000 won, coin pouches and parking number plates at 8,000 won each, keyrings at either 5,000 won or 8,000 won depending on the type, and nap pillows at 18,000 won. The coin pouch and parking number plate set is 15,000 won, and the nap pillow and parking number plate set is 25,000 won, which is 1,000 won cheaper than buying them separately.
The full set, which includes all six types of Maedol-i goods, will be sold at a discounted price of 50,000 won (2,000 won off), with the magnet being randomly selected from two types.
Kim Miran, head of Gwangyang City’s Tourism Division, said, “The 24th Gwangyang Maehwa Festival is a golden opportunity to purchase Maedol-i goods, which until now have only been available as non-sale gifts. However, as these are limited editions produced in fixed daily quantities, we ask for your understanding if they sell out early.”
She added, “We expect that selling these limited edition Maedol-i goods, which combine both design and practicality, will provide festival visitors with special memories. In addition, we anticipate that the sale of these limited edition goods will have a positive impact on Gwangyang’s tourism branding.”
