The exhibition is composed of "Nam June Paik Factory," which contains stories from the time of creating Nam June Paik's representative robot sculptures, and "Nam June Paik and Mark Patzpool Print Workshop," which includes printmaking content.
In the Nam June Paik Factory space, visitors can explore the golden age of Nam June Paik's media sculptures through the factory's chronology, major exhibition posters, and public project materials. Research sketches, installation blueprints, photos used in actual artwork production, as well as mockups, photos, and videos made by cutting these materials are displayed.
In the Nam June Paik and Mark Patzpool Print Workshop space, prints created through collaboration between Nam June Paik and Mark Patzpool are showcased. The series "Evolution, Revolution, Resolution" (1989), which Nam June Paik produced as prints to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution by representing eight revolutionaries as eight TV sculptures, is exhibited.
The works presented in this exhibition are part of the collection provided by Mark Patzpool, who established a relationship with Nam June Paik in 1983 and assisted in artwork production in Cincinnati, USA, until the late 1990s. It is significant as it introduces for the first time in Seoul, following Busan last year, the vast archive materials related to the "Nam June Paik Factory," which produced Nam June Paik's TV sculpture works from the 1980s to the 1990s.
Four talk concerts to help understand Nam June Paik will be held at the Sejong Arts Academy Circle Hall. Each session accepts 50 pre-registrations. Detailed information can be found on the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts website.
Sejong Center President Ahn Hosang said, "We are very honored to provide an opportunity to directly observe the creative process and concerns of the world-renowned artist Nam June Paik, offering a glimpse into the artwork creation process and artistic vision."
