MZ Solution and Gaion Promote 'AI Drone Wildfire Detection and Suppression' Demonstration Project

MGN Solution is launching a wildfire detection and suppression project using artificial intelligence (AI)-based drones.

On the 7th, MGN Solution announced that it signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with Hyundai Infracore and Gaion, a big data-based security control specialist company.

Under this agreement, the two companies plan to build a multi-drone wildfire disaster response system and carry out various AI disaster safety solution projects, including linking firefighting robots and drones.

Gaion is a company that has established a drone delivery and reconnaissance service platform business through multiple demonstrations with the government, local governments, and companies. It has achieved more than 1,800 official drone delivery records, the highest in Korea, and is expanding its business based on its self-developed gSmart Solution applied to the drone service ‘The Dron’ and the drone control platform ‘Whizwing.’ Its accumulated customer base includes about 300 major financial institutions and large corporations such as Company C and Company H.

Gaion has secured government projects related to drones worth a total of 60 billion KRW. Through this, it has acquired multifunctional drone manufacturing and operation technologies integrated with AI and IoT (Internet of Things) technologies for wildfire suppression/detection and missing person searches.

In particular, it has completed the development of a heavy-load drone capable of carrying 40kg of cargo and wildfire suppression extinguishing agents with an operational radius of 7km, and a surveillance reconnaissance drone capable of swarm flight for about one hour. Subsequently, it succeeded in realizing beyond-visual-line-of-sight autonomous flight with intelligent control technology equipped with video recognition-based obstacle avoidance and automatic takeoff and landing technologies.

MGN Solution’s ‘AlphaShot’ system features ▲real-time fire detection using intelligent sensing sensors ▲AI-based remote monitoring and integrated control ▲an automated extinguishing solution applying precise fire suppression technology. The company is continuously registering and applying for patents related to fire detection and suppression to improve the accuracy of fire analysis and enhance suppression precision.

A company official said, “Recently, there has been increasing demand from local governments for mission-specialized drones, including delivery to mountainous and remote areas, wildfire monitoring, and emergency medical support,” adding, “With the synergy of our AI fire detection and suppression technology and Gaion’s drone control technology, effective response to wildfire disasters will be possible.”
