Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) deployed 72 public officials to the site of the abnormal military bomb drop accident that occurred on the 7th in Nogok-ri, Idong-myeon, taking proactive measures to respond to the damage.

Pocheon City formed a damage investigation team consisting of 72 public officials, conducted training for rapid accident recovery at the Pocheon City Hall auditorium at 8 a.m. that day, and then dispatched the investigation team to the site.

The damage investigation team is organized into groups of four, including two public officials and personnel from the military, police, and fire departments, conducting human and material damage investigations based on one-to-one matching. This is to accurately assess the scale of the damage and ensure practical support is provided to the affected residents.

Pocheon City plans to promptly conduct a status survey and immediately take measures for emergency restoration. Additionally, it is undertaking responses for accident damage recovery such as conducting detailed safety inspections of buildings in Gyeonggi Province, operating a damage reception center for residents, providing temporary housing and relief supplies for disaster victims, and offering emergency welfare support.

Furthermore, Pocheon City Hall is operating a Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, and an Integrated Disaster Site Command Center is running at the Idong-myeon site. Eighteen households totaling 40 disaster victims have been dispersed and accommodated in motels in the Idong and Ildong areas, including Sanjeong Lake Hanwha Condo.

Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, “We judged that rapid accident recovery and damage restoration are the top priorities, so we have proactively initiated recovery measures. We will do our best to support the victims by mobilizing all administrative capabilities.”
