Jung Ki-sun, Senior Vice Chairman of HD Hyundai, reportedly discussed the 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) Shipyard' project with Alex Karp, CEO of Palantir Technologies, in the United States on the 7th.

At the meeting, Senior Vice Chairman Jung and CEO Karp reached a consensus that collaboration between the two companies would strengthen the security capabilities of both South Korea and the United States. They also reportedly agreed that AI-based solutions would become a crucial element in security strategies.

Since 2021, HD Hyundai has been collaborating with Palantir on the 'Future Shipyard' project. The future shipyard refers to an advanced shipyard of the future where digital technologies such as data, virtual and augmented reality, robotics, automation, and AI are implemented. HD Hyundai plans to complete this project by 2030.

Senior Vice Chairman Jung has been dedicating significant effort to this project and appeared in a promotional video by Palantir showcased at the 2025 World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting held in Davos, Switzerland, last January, introducing HD Hyundai's vision for the future shipyard.
