The Nara Market Expo was held for three days from the 5th at KINTEX in Ilsan. This year, the Public Procurement Service not only conducted export consultations at the Nara Market Expo but also collaborated with government ministries such as the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and export support organizations including KOTRA and the Export-Import Bank to carry out various side events aimed at helping procurement companies enter overseas procurement markets.
Building on last year's high corporate satisfaction with expert consulting in customs and legal fields, the program was expanded to cover all export-related areas such as finance, certification, and customs clearance. Additionally, procurement practitioners from international organizations like the World Food Programme (WFP) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) participated to provide customized consultations related to systems and technology for domestic companies.
Notably, this year’s Nara Market Expo saw the highest participation since its inception, with over 400 companies taking part, conducting more than 800 export consultations with 80 overseas buyers. Furthermore, opportunities were provided to explore entry into overseas procurement markets through one-on-one expert consulting, tailored close consultations with international organizations, and briefings introducing major overseas procurement market trends.
After the closing of the Nara Market Expo, the Public Procurement Service plans to continue follow-up support and management for participating companies by facilitating company visit consultations with overseas buyers and providing on-site visits and technical advice from WFP experts.
Lim Gi-geun, Administrator of the Public Procurement Service, stated, “The ultimate goal of public procurement companies is to enter overseas procurement markets and leap forward as global companies. The Public Procurement Service will continue to listen to voices from the field and strive to provide practical assistance that companies desire.”
