From Ecological Transition to ESG Management...
Three Areas, Seven Projects
Gwangju Office of Education Citizens' Cooperation Promotion Institute has developed an ecological transition education activity plan, which will be implemented starting this month. The goal is to strengthen the capacity of elementary, middle, and high schools, the education office, and affiliated institutions to respond to the climate crisis, and to foster ecological citizens.

According to the Gwangju Office of Education on the 7th, this year, three areas with a total of seven projects will be pursued: community-linked education, curriculum-based education, and the establishment of a carbon-neutral foundation. In particular, a 'carbon-neutral platform' will be established to manage the carbon emissions of schools and institutions by digitizing energy usage data and operating autonomous education programs.
Additionally, the plan includes mobile ecological transition classes led by local citizen instructors, the operation of wetland schools, and the expansion of ESG management. In the second half of the year, a performance report meeting will be held to share educational outcomes.
Superintendent Lee Jungseon stated, "Ecological transition education is essential in this era of climate crisis," and added, "We will provide support to ensure it is effectively implemented in schools."
