Gwangju Urban Corporation announced on the 7th that it held the 2025 Local Development Corporation Housing Welfare Council General Meeting at the Ramada Hotel in Sangmu District, Seo-gu, on the 6th.


The Local Development Corporation Housing Welfare Council was established in 2019 with the aim of exchanging information and promoting joint projects in the field of housing welfare. It is comprised of 14 local development corporations nationwide as member companies. Gwangju Urban Corporation has taken on the role of chair company for two years starting this year.


About 40 housing welfare officials from across the country attended the general meeting. Participants discussed joint research to improve the quality of life for public rental housing residents, explored ways to jointly operate the Housing Welfare Forum, and finalized the council's operational plan for 2025, engaging in various discussions for the development of the council.


The member companies pledged to strengthen information exchange and networking in the field of housing welfare among local development corporations, and to mutually cooperate in promoting various housing welfare projects aimed at enhancing the welfare of local residents and realizing social value.


Going forward, the council plans to enhance the competitiveness and mutual growth of local development corporations through policy proposals and institutional improvements for the localization of housing welfare, joint research, and the review of advanced cases.


President Kim Seungnam emphasized, "As the chair company of the Housing Welfare Council, I feel a great sense of responsibility and will do my utmost to further enhance the competitiveness of local development corporations as a specialized institution for housing welfare."
