Hana Financial Group Launches Korea's First Fully Donation-Funded Investment Fund
Expanding Investment Targets to Include Companies Supporting Small Businesses, Local Communities, and Senior Generations
Hana Financial Group announced on the 7th that it is recruiting companies to participate in the '2025 Hana ESG Double Impact Matching Fund,' which supports the sustainable growth of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) startups.
As part of its ESG management, Hana Financial Group operates the 'Hana ESG Double Impact Matching Fund,' the first fully donation-funded fund in Korea, financed by the group's donations. It provides initial commercialization funds to ESG startups with high job creation potential and eco-friendly technology and business capabilities.
Since its launch in 2022, the 'Hana ESG Double Impact Matching Fund' has accumulated donations totaling 10 billion KRW.
Starting this year, the fund has expanded its support scope to include companies contributing to the revitalization of small businesses and local commercial districts, as well as companies supporting healthy aging and independence for seniors.
The recruitment of investment companies will be conducted twice. The first round will be held from March 7 to April 4, and the second round from May 26 to June 27. Companies wishing to participate can apply through the Hana Financial Group website and the 'Hana Power On' website.
The 'Hana ESG Double Impact Matching Fund' selects final investment companies after document screening, on-site inspections, and two rounds of investment review committees. The evaluation criteria include ▲social value ▲business feasibility ▲organizational capability ▲corporate value, with a total investment scale of 2 billion KRW.
Selected companies will be provided not only with simple funding but also with a 'Demo Day' for follow-up investment linkage. Through this, networking and investor relations (IR) opportunities with venture capital (VC) representatives will be arranged to support continuous growth of the companies.
Additionally, a 'Corporate ESG Consulting Service' will be offered free of charge. This is a specialized ESG support program by Hana Bank, where ESG experts diagnose companies' ESG management, provide result reports, suggest customized solutions for improvements, and offer ESG education for employees to help establish ESG management systems.
A Hana Financial Group official stated, "We expect active interest and participation from companies presenting innovative solutions in the ESG field," adding, "Starting this year, we will actively support companies that help the sustainable growth of local communities and senior generations to expand social value creation."
Meanwhile, Hana Financial Group is focusing on spreading ESG management through various social value creation programs such as 'Hana Social Venture University,' which nurtures local professional entrepreneurs through regional youth startup education; 'Hana Power On Innovative Company Internship,' which expands job opportunities for vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities and women with career interruptions through internships matched with social innovation companies; and 'Hana Power On Second Life,' a comprehensive job support project for middle-aged and older adults.
