Joining Hands for Joint Research and Talent Development
Strengthening Cooperation in Science and Technology
Chung-Ang University and the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute have signed an academic-industry exchange agreement for research cooperation and the training of specialized personnel.
(From left) Joo Han-kyu, Director of Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Park Sang-kyu, President of Chung-Ang University On the 6th, Chung-Ang University announced on the 11th that it held the 'Chung-Ang University-Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute Academic-Industry Exchange Agreement Ceremony' at the main building of the Seoul campus.
Attendees at the event included Park Sang-gyu, President of Chung-Ang University; Seong Maeng-je, Vice President for Research; Jang Hang-bae, Director of the Research Office; as well as Joo Han-kyu, President of the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute; and Choi Ki-yong, Director of the Nuclear Safety Research Center.
Through this agreement, both institutions plan to collaborate in various fields including ▲planning and securing joint research projects ▲training specialized personnel in science and technology ▲research on nuclear energy and energy policies. They also plan to form a joint steering committee to specify research cooperation measures and expand collaboration into advanced fields such as AI, new materials, and next-generation vaccines based on nuclear safety and proton science research.
Park Sang-gyu, President of Chung-Ang University, said, “This agreement will be an important milestone for Chung-Ang University’s growth into a convergence-oriented research university,” adding, “We hope to expand cooperation beyond nuclear research into various advanced fields such as bio and defense industries.”
