Vice Chairman Lee met with Andrzej Duda, Head of the Investment and Trade Agency, and Michał Baranowski, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Technology, in Warsaw, Poland, on the 6th and 7th (local time). The day before, he met with Head Andrzej Duda and conveyed issues related to rising energy costs experienced by Korean companies due to the introduction of EU decarbonization-related legislation and systems. In particular, he requested consideration for establishing energy cost subsidy programs, as Korean battery companies contribute to Poland's industrial development and job creation through large-scale local investments.
On the 7th, he is scheduled to meet Deputy Minister Michał Baranowski. He plans to communicate problems caused by delays in issuing foreign worker permits and residence cards and request active support at the ministry level. Last month, a bill to shorten the labor permit issuance period passed the Polish lower house, and the Economic Development and Technology Ministry is responsible for creating the list of companies eligible for the 'priority processing procedure' included in the bill. Vice Chairman Lee plans to persuade Deputy Minister Baranowski to include Korean companies on the priority processing list.

He will also hold a meeting with members of the Korea Business Council Poland (KBC Poland) to listen to the difficulties faced by local companies and discuss improvement measures.
Lee In-ho said, "I hope that this visit to Poland will serve as an opportunity to expand business cooperation between Korea and major European countries," adding, "The Trade Association will seek support measures to ensure smooth market entry and expand the global network of our companies, including conducting outreach activities targeting local governments."
