Studio Samik, First Dividend After Listing... 250 Won Per Share

Studio Samik announced on the 6th that it will pay a dividend of 250 KRW per share.

The total dividend amount of Studio Samik is 966 million KRW, with a payout ratio of 26.0% and a dividend yield of 3.1%. The dividend will be paid within one month after approval at the shareholders' meeting to be held on the 28th.

Notably, the upcoming shareholders' meeting will discuss amendments to the articles of incorporation to introduce a system of "confirming the dividend amount first, then setting the dividend record date," providing investors with information so they can know the dividend amount in advance.

Recently, the government pointed out the issue of "blind dividends," where investors do not know the dividend amount when investing because the dividend amount is determined after the dividend shareholders are finalized, and recommended that companies voluntarily improve this. Tax-exempt dividends are paid by transferring part of the capital reserve to retained earnings, and unlike regular dividends, they are exempt from dividend income tax. Studio Samik decided to implement tax-exempt dividends starting with the dividend recipients confirmed after the upcoming shareholders' meeting, in response to government policy and to protect the rights of minority shareholders. The company plans to maximize corporate value through various shareholder return policies.

Studio Samik has been faithfully implementing shareholder return policies announced before and after its listing. To promote responsible management and stabilize the stock price, it repurchased treasury shares worth 4 billion KRW twice in May and November last year. In January, it launched a shareholder benefit service that allows shareholders to receive benefits (such as a 5% discount coupon on Studio Samik’s flagship products) even if they hold just one share.

A Studio Samik official said, "Since our listing in February last year, we have been faithfully implementing various shareholder return policies such as treasury stock repurchases, dividends, and launching shareholder benefit services for about a year." He added, "We will actively implement various policies to enhance shareholder value and focus on increasing corporate value through continuous expansion of our sales portfolio."
