Appointment Scheduled After City Council Hearing on the 24th
Kyu Song Yeom, Candidate for Chairman of Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation.
On the 6th, Kyu Song Yeom, former Vice President of Gwangju Bank, was nominated as the candidate for Chairman of the Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation.
The city of Gwangju selected Yeom, the former vice president, as the final candidate for chairman among two candidates recommended through the open recruitment process, which included document and interview screening by the Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation Chairman Selection Committee and a resolution by the foundation's board of directors.
Candidate Yeom graduated from the Department of Trade at Chonnam National University and joined Gwangju Bank in 1995, serving as Head of the 3rd Business Division and Vice President. He is a financial expert who has built up expertise and experience as a financial professional during his 30 years at Gwangju Bank. After retirement, he served as a non-executive director at Gwangju Global Motors in 2024.
The personnel hearing for candidate Yeom at the Gwangju City Council is scheduled for the 24th. After the hearing, if the report is adopted on the 31st, the mayor of Gwangju will make the final appointment.
A city official stated, "Candidate Yeom is the right person to get closer to citizens, understand the difficulties in the field, and serve as a pillar of the local economy."
Meanwhile, the Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation announced the recruitment for the chairman position for 16 days starting from December 26 last year, and a total of five people applied.
