Namyangju City Awards Kim Chaeyeon
for Gold Medal at Harbin Winter Asian Games
Supports Local Athletes’ International Success
On the 6th, Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) awarded a prize of 1.5 million KRW to figure skater Kim Chaeyeon, who won the gold medal in the women's singles at the 9th Harbin Winter Asian Games in 2025, at the mayor's office.

This prize, given as part of support for achievements in professional sports competitions, was prepared to commemorate Kim Chaeyeon's outstanding performance on the international stage, which elevated the prestige of Namyangju City, and to encourage her active future athletic career.
The award ceremony was attended by Mayor Joo Gwang-deok of Namyangju City, Kim Chaeyeon, her mother, and Yoon Seong-hyun, chairman of the Namyangju City Sports Council, adding distinction to the event.
Kim Chaeyeon has shown steady growth by winning medals at the 2023 ISU Grand Prix, the 2024 Four Continents Championships, and the World Championships. This year, she proved her skills by winning gold medals at both the Winter Asian Games and the Four Continents Championships.
Mayor Joo Gwang-deok said, “I am proud that Kim Chaeyeon has achieved brilliant results in figure skating and raised the honor of Namyangju City. We will continue to provide steady support so that more sports talents can realize their dreams.”
Namyangju City plans to strengthen its sports support policies to help local sports talents grow further and will continue to cheer for their achievements in international competitions.
