Kim Taekyun, Jeonnam Provincial Council Chair, Emphasizes the Importance of the Role of Public Relations Ambassadors

Congratulatory Address at the Inauguration and Handover Ceremony of the Jeonnam Cultural Tourism Interpreters Association

Kim Taekyun, Chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Council, announced that he attended the ‘Jeonnam Cultural Tourism Interpreters Association Inauguration and Handover Ceremony’ held at the Wangin Room of Jeonnam Provincial Government on the morning of the 6th.


The event was attended by Kim Yungrok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, Jeong Cheol, a member of the Jeonnam Provincial Council, Im Chunim, the newly inaugurated president, and about 300 cultural tourism interpreters from cities and counties. The main agenda included the presentation of appreciation plaques, inauguration and farewell speeches, delivery of certificates to new interpreters, and a regular general meeting.

At the ceremony, Chairman Kim Taekyun delivered congratulatory remarks and emphasized the importance of cultural tourism interpreters who serve as ambassadors for Jeonnam. Currently, Jeonnam has a total of 461 cultural tourism interpreters (148 men and 313 women) actively working across 22 cities and counties at various sites such as local tourist attractions, museums, historical experience centers, and festival venues.


In his congratulatory speech, Chairman Kim stated, “Having served on the Economic, Culture and Tourism Committee for six years, I have witnessed firsthand the dedication and hard work of the cultural tourism interpreters,” and added, “Jeonnam Province will spare no effort in supporting interpreters and will continue to provide even more active support going forward.”


He continued, “Currently, the tourism industry is facing difficulties, and some are on the verge of bankruptcy, which is truly regrettable. However, Jeonnam Province is preparing various support measures to overcome this, and I hope Jeonnam will quickly recover and become even more vitalized as a leading tourism hub representing Korea.” He also added, “The Jeonnam Provincial Council will continue to pay close attention and actively support these efforts.”
