Uiryeong-gun Hosts the 4th Uiryeong Gare Field Minari Festival

Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam, will hold the "4th Uiryeong Gare Bat Minari Festival" for three days from the 14th to the 16th at the Gare Bat Minari Collection Center.

Uiryeong Bat Minari began being cultivated in fields for the first time nationwide in 1994 and has been producing clean Bat Minari for 30 years. It is especially produced in large quantities in the Gare-myeon area.

Uiryeong Gare Bat Minari is cultivated using clear and clean natural bedrock water from the pristine areas at the foothills of Jagulsan and Hanusan Mountains, and it has received the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certification, allowing it to be sold as a clean, pollution-free product.

Uiryeong Gare Bat Minari is soft with excellent taste and aroma, and can be eaten fresh as a salad or wrapped in leaves. It is a safe food without concerns of parasitic infections such as leeches, which were found in Minari cultivated in rice paddies.

At the festival site, a food market will be open where visitors can enjoy dishes such as Bat Minari Samgyeopsal (pork belly), Bat Minari fresh bibimbap, and Bat Minari jeon (pancakes). There will also be a harvesting experience event for Minari.

Additionally, fresh Bat Minari can be purchased on-site at prices cheaper than in the market.

At the previous 3rd festival, about 4,000 visitors attended the event, and 1,828 boxes (based on 2 kg) were sold out, resulting in a 69% increase in sales, marking a great success.

Ha Dae-young, chairman of the Jagulsan Clean Bat Minari Farming Association, said, "Uiryeong Gare Bat Minari is cultivated with care using good soil and clean water," and added, "We hope you will definitely try the fragrant Uiryeong Gare Bat Minari that comes with the warm spring."
