A Variety of Hands-On Programs Including Walking the Gorosoe Plateau Trail
Jinan County in North Jeolla Province announced on the 6th that the 21st Jinan Plateau Unjangsan Gorosoe Festival will be held at the Unilam Banilam Samgeo Square from the 8th to the 9th.
This year's festival will kick off with 'Jungpyeong-gut' and 'Gorosoe Hanmadang' at the main square at 10 a.m. on the 8th, setting the festive mood. The main event, a large-scale Gorosoe performance, will take place at 2 p.m. at the main square.

The highlight of the festival is the 'Start! Gorosoe Forest Expedition,' where visitors can directly harvest and taste Gorosoe sap. Special programs include 'Making Gorosoe Gochujang,' 'Walking the Gorosoe Plateau Trail' using the Unilam Banilam tourist site, as well as hands-on activities like 'Balloon Making' and 'Art and Horticulture Experiences.'
The county is preparing a variety of programs for families, such as 'Gorosoe Four-Cut Photos' and 'Stage Performances,' as well as food booths offering local specialties of the Jinan Plateau, to welcome visitors to the festival.
For families with children, the 'Playground Under the Clouds' will be open, expanding the festival space for outdoor play. There will also be more snack booths offering tteokbokki, fish cakes, hotteok, and Gorosoe ade.
In particular, for the convenience of tourists and local residents, shuttle buses will run every 30 minutes between the Unilam Banilam parking lots 1, 2, and the temporary parking lot and the festival site. For the first time this year, a shuttle bus will also operate from Jinan-eup to the festival venue.
Gorosoe sap, which means 'water beneficial to the bones,' is rich in naturally occurring calcium, magnesium, and various minerals. It can only be tasted in spring, has a sweet flavor, and is enjoyed by people of all ages.
Visitors to the festival can also purchase sap at discounted prices.
Nam Gwi-hyeon, chairperson of the Jinan Plateau Unjangsan Gorosoe Festival Committee, said, "This Gorosoe Festival is a special opportunity to enjoy both health and healing in nature. I hope many people will come to Jinan to experience the pristine nature and the fresh taste of Gorosoe."
