All public officials in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Seo Tae-won) have stepped forward to realize a "Clean Gapyeong-gun" through the establishment of an honest organizational culture.

Gapyeong-gun announced on the 6th that at the launch ceremony of the "Gapyeong-gun Integrity Promotion Team" held on the 5th, Governor Seo Tae-won, department heads, and about 200 employees participated to reaffirm their commitment to practicing integrity.

At the launch ceremony, awards were given to outstanding performers of integrity policies, new public officials received integrity pledges, and a declaration of integrity administration was made. Additionally, the "Integrity Connection" activity, involving all employees, was officially launched.

Governor Seo Tae-won stated, "Improving integrity is not the effort of only the audit department or some employees, but something that all public officials, including the governor, must practice with one heart." He urged, "Each department should actively discover practical and effective integrity policies and do their best to realize fair administration trusted by the residents."

In particular, at the event, the governor announced plans to appoint a private-sector integrity policy expert as an advisory committee member and to personally preside over a consultative body aimed at improving integrity-vulnerable areas such as permits and approvals, subsidy support, finance and taxation, contract management, and personnel and organization. Through this, they plan to closely analyze corruption-prone areas and prepare practical improvement measures to leap forward as an "Outstanding Integrity Institution."

A county official said, "Integrity is a fundamental value of public officials and a key element in building trust with residents," adding, "With this launch ceremony of the Integrity Promotion Team as an opportunity, all employees will make practicing integrity a daily habit and create changes that residents can feel."
