The top departments in the 2024 academic year departmental evaluation were △Humanities and Social Sciences: ‘Tourism Management Department’, ‘Media Communication Department’ △Natural Science and Engineering: ‘Food and Nutrition Department’, ‘Fashion Design Department’, ‘Architectural Engineering Department’ △Arts and Physical Education: ‘Industrial Design Department’, totaling six departments, which received certificates and incentives.
This year, a total of 98 million KRW in incentives, including for 12 excellent departments, was provided as financial support to improve educational conditions.
Dong-A University conducts annual departmental evaluations to strengthen the overall competitiveness of the university through a system of autonomous competition among departments and to systematically prepare and manage outcomes linked to various external evaluations and educational projects such as university accreditation, Glocal University Project, and University Innovation Support Project.
The Dong-A University departmental evaluation is divided into three areas: ‘Education and Educational Outcomes’, ‘Research and Industry-Academia Cooperation’, and ‘Department Management’. It was conducted with consideration of the characteristics of each category by applying different weightings across 16 indicators including student enrollment rate, employment rate, research and industry-academia achievements, and department-specific accomplishments.
The six departments selected as top departments showed strong performance across all evaluation indicators, particularly excelling in ‘student enrollment rate’, ‘employment rate’, ‘foreign student recruitment’, and ‘department-specific achievements’.
