Pocheon City Reopens Dog Playground... Urges Compliance with Public Etiquette for Pets

Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 6th that it reopened the "Pocheon Companion Dog Playground," a place where companion dogs and their owners can enjoy together, on the 4th. The city urged users to observe public etiquette for pets.

The companion dog playground is a space within the Pocheon Sports Complex where companion dogs and their owners can safely interact. Although operations were temporarily suspended for facility improvements and safety inspections, it has been reopened to citizens in a more pleasant environment.

The playground covers an area of 648㎡ and is divided into zones for large dogs and for medium and small dogs. Additionally, it is equipped with various convenience facilities such as shaded rest areas for owners and agility obstacle facilities for companion dogs.

The city requested cooperation from users of the companion dog playground to observe public etiquette so that both companion dogs and their owners can use the facilities safely and comfortably. In particular, it emphasized the thorough observance of pet public etiquette, such as proper disposal of pet waste.

The Pocheon Companion Dog Playground operates 24 hours daily, except on Mondays when it is closed. Anyone aged 13 or older with a registered companion dog can use the playground free of charge, and children aged 12 or younger must be accompanied by an adult guardian to enter.

A Pocheon City official said, "The companion dog playground is a space for companion animals. Since it is a public facility used by all users, it is essential to follow the usage rules," and added, "We ask for active cooperation so that a mature usage culture can be established."
