Busan Metropolitan Office of Education selected six 'Outstanding Public Officials for Proactive Administration in the Second Half of 2024.'
Every year, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education selects outstanding public officials for proactive administration who have actively responded to various administrative demands in the first and second halves of the year and achieved excellent results.
This time, a total of 13 cases of outstanding proactive administration were submitted. After the first preliminary review by the Proactive Administration Monitoring Team and the second review by the Proactive Administration Committee, one grand prize winner, one excellence awardee, and four encouragement awardees were selected.
The 'Grand Prize' was awarded to the case of operating a new Neulbom School model that integrates care and learning-type Neulbom by establishing the nation's first Myeongji Neulbom Dedicated School, a second school for students. This case was also selected as 'Excellent' at the Ministry of Education's Proactive Administration Best Practice Competition.
The 'Excellence' award was given to the case that temporarily promoted the hope-support allocation method during the transitional period when the assignment method for some overcrowded middle schools in Haeundae needed to be changed, minimizing confusion among parents and students.
The 'Encouragement' awards were given to the following cases: ▲Resolving the issue of Daeyeon Elementary School site (winning a lawsuit for the return of unjust profits due to unauthorized occupation) ▲Operating a public interest (non-profit) corporation 3-way support project involving 'YouTube, advisory tax accountant, and customized mentor' ▲Promoting a project to improve the working environment at the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education building by utilizing idle shared property ▲Creating schools free from 3D (Dirtiness, Danger, Difficulty) by ensuring student safety around construction sites near schools and solving sewage problems.
Selected outstanding public officials for proactive administration will receive incentives such as the highest grade performance bonus, priority selection for training, and desired transfer according to their grade, along with additional reward leave.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education plans to also select and reward cases of proactive administration recommended by citizens and cases that fulfilled proactive administration and realized public interest according to citizens' demands to discover invisible outstanding cases.
Kim Dong-hyun, Auditor, said, “The efforts of employees who have carried out proactive administration in various fields have been a great driving force in spreading the culture of proactive administration in our Office of Education,” adding, “We will strive to create a culture that favors proactive administration so that we can implement education policies centered on education consumers.”
